Medicaid Reform: Economic Independence VS. Government Dependency

Abstract

       Over the last fifty-three years, since the conception of the Medicaid program, government spending has risen at proliferative rates, resulting in economic turmoil and continues to breed government dependency.  Key components have contributed to this disposition including massive increases to enrollment of the program, costly compliance violations, and the inability to properly reform the Medicaid system.  Renovation of the Medicaid program is essential, and can only be done if all parties accept accountability respectively.
